BUFFALO — Kenny Wilson didn’t hit it hard, but his ground ball to the pitcher in the bottom of the 10th was good enough to lift Buffalo past the Mud Hens 5-4.

Andy LaRoche’s sacrifice bunt moved runners to second and third with one out. Wilson then hit a ball to pitcher Chad Smith (2-2), but Smith’s throw home was too late to get a sliding A.J. Jimenez.

Toledo blew a pair of leads earlier in the game.

In the top of the first, Ben Guez clobbered his fifth home run of the year with a one-out solo shot to left field to make it 1-0. Guez went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored.

Buffalo countered with a longball of its own in the bottom half when Dan Johnson went yard with a two-run homer.

Toledo regained the lead in the fourth on a three-run blast from Tyler Collins — his seventh this season — but that lead quickly evaporated.

After retiring the first two Bisons of the inning, Mud Hens reliever Jose Ortega gave up a single to Jared Goeder in the fifth, followed by a ground-rule double to Johnson. Jimenez doubled to left, scoring two and knotting it at 4.

Mud Hens starter Mike Belfiore was lifted after just 3 2/3 innings. He allowed a pair of earned runs, five hits, struck out two, and walked one.
