Hessman breaks IL home run record
6/30/2014INDIANAPOLIS – The Mud Hens’ Mike Hessman became the International League’s career home run leader with a homer against Indianapolis tonight.
The home run, which came in the third inning against the Indians’ Jake Brigham, was his 15th this season and his 259th in IL play.
Hessman surpassed Ollie Carnegie, who had 258 home runs while with Buffalo from 1931-41 and 1945.
