Disney extravaganza to be staged in Adrian theater
11/9/2006Disney's Beauty and the Beast will be staged Nov. 24 through Dec. 3 in the Croswell Opera House, 129 East Maumee St., Adrian. Performances are 8 p.m. Fridays, 3 and 8 p.m. Saturdays, and 3 p.m. and Sundays. Tickets range from $15 to $25 from the box office, 517-264-7469.
Peter Sklar, who has coached, directed, or discovered Sarah Jessica Parker, Rick Schroder, Reese Witherspoon, Rikki Lake, Mischa Barton, and others, will present a free lecture, "So You Want to be a Performer...," at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Cassandra School of Ballet, 3157 West Sylvania Ave. The lecture for children, teens, and parents will be followed by personal interviews with young members of the audience. Teens 18 and younger must be accompanied by a parent; no one under age 6 will be admitted. Reservations are required from 419-475-0458.
The inaugural Tremaine Williams Memorial Concert to benefit the Children's Miracle Network is scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. Nov. 19 at Central Park West, 3141 Central Park West Dr. Featured will be Epitome, with guest Not Your Basic Blues Band Advance tickets are $25 by Nov. 13 from C.L.B. The second annual Thanksgiving Extravaganza with Glenn Jones Live will take place from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Nov. 25 in the Erie Street Market Ballroom, 327 South Erie St. Also featured will be Toledo's KGB Band and the Def Jam Poets. Auditions will be held for Oregon Community Theatre's production of Over the River and Through the Woods from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in the band room of Fassett Middle School, 3025 Starr Ave., Oregon.
