Summer Sings starts at UT

6/9/2007

Singers start your warm-ups - the annual Summer Sings at the University of Toledo will begin Tuesday and continue the next two Tuesdays in the Recital Hall of the Center for Performing Arts. Singing starts at 7 p.m.

Steve Hodge, professor of music and director of choral activities, has organized these popular summer sessions once more. Singers show up, pay a fee, and receive all music needed for the event.

Hodge will conduct the final session on June 26. The Mozart Credo Mass is on the program.

The first evening will feature the Faure Requiem, led by William P. Schwepe, of the UT music faculty. On June 19, Richard Mathey, professor emeritus from Bowling Green State University will lead John Rutter's Mass for the Children.

Registration is available at the door starting at 6:30 p.m. Cost per session is $11 - $7 for high school students - and $28 for all three evenings.

Refreshments are provided during a break in singing, before the final reading of each work.
