Violinist, pianist to perform at BGSU

Austrian violinist Wolfgang David and American pianist David Gompper will perform music by Joseph Dangerfield, Gompper, Ching-chu Hun, Arnbold Schoenberg, and Noel Zahler in a free recital at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Bryan Recital Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center at Bowling Green State University. David is an international soloist and Gompper is professor of composition and director of the Center for New Music at the University of Iowa.

Also in Bryan, French hornist Bruce Hudson will present a recital at 8 p.m. Sept. 2. Hudson is a member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Burning River Brass ensemble. The BGSU Faculty Artist Series will present violinist Penny Thompson Kruse and pianist Robert Satterlee at 3 p.m. Sept. 23. Works by Bela Bartok, Amy Beach, Mozart, and Paul Schoenfield are on the program. The recitals are free.

A scheduling conflict has caused cancellation of the Ballet Folklorico de Mexico appearance originally set for 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Valentine Theatre, 400 North Superior St. Ticket holders may request reimbursement through the box office, 419-242-2787.
