Dance concert features new works

trideaDANCE, the resident dance company of Tiffin's Ritz Theatre, has slated a concert at 7:30 p.m. May 23 to present new works exploring interaction among friends, the connection between art and reality, family dynamics, and more. It will be in the theater at 30 South Washington St., Tiffin, and guest performers include Shove Gently Dance of Columbus, Antaeus Dance Company of Cleveland, Michael Frankart of New Riegel, and Findlay Academy of Ballet dancers Catherine Demith, Sarah Brown, Ashley Bishop, and Tessa Wadsworth. Tiffin University student and dancer Victoria Wurm will premiere a new choreographic work with Jeff Snavely. The Toledo chapter of the American Guild of Organists is honoring Vernon Wolcott with an organ recital at 7 p.m. Tuesday in First Presbyterian Church, 126 South Church St., Bowling Green. Wolcott, the organist at the church and a member of the AGO chapter, is retiring from the faculty of Bowling Green State University.

BGSU's College of Musical Arts will run a vocal jazz camp Aug. 4-9 in the Moore Musical Arts Center open to high school students, professional musicians, and anyone interested in the vocal jazz genre. The Grammy Award-winning ensemble New York Voices will offer master classes and offer coaching on interpretation and improvisation of vocal jazz.
