The Scene: Extra Stout

Lineup: Mike McCarty, lead singer, guitar, and bodhran (Irish drum); Ellen McCarty, back-up vocals, mandolin, tambourine; Tom Moeller, bass, backup vocals; Tom Troy, lead guitar, concertina; and Marty Brogan, banjo, tin whistle, guitar. Note: Ernie Fisher, who died July 4, played 12-string guitar with the band.

Year formed: 2000.

Style of music: We are a folk and Irish pub band.

Influences: Great Big Sea, Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem, and Gaelic Storm.

Favorite local venues: Area parks summer concerts, Claddagh Irish Pub and all of the other bars in Toledo that have given us a break.

CDs: "Fiddlers Green" and "It's About Time."
