    A blues guitar great, a rising country star, a venerable classic rock act, and a fresh-faced boy band highlight this year’s Toledo Zoo concert series.

    The lineup announced today for the popular shows includes Buddy Guy, Darius Rucker, Chicago, and Big Time Rush.

    The series starts June 27 with a show by Rucker, the lead singer of Hootie and the Blowfish, who set out on a highly-successful country career a few years ago that has included the albums “Learn To Live” and “Charleston, SC 1966.”

    He will soon release his third album, “True Believers” and the tour kicks off May 9.

    Opening acts will be Rodney Atkins and Jana Kramer for the 7 p.m. show. Tickets are $75, $59.59, and $37.50.

    Chicago blues legend Buddy Guy will bring his raucous, influential brand of rock to the zoo July 26.

    Guy has been performing since the 1960s and has shared the stage with the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and B.B. King. He also has recorded dozens of albums. He is on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.

    The opening act will be Quinn Sullivan and show time is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $59.50, $45, and $27.50.

    Horn-heavy classic rock act Chicago will be the zoo Aug. 28. The band that scored major hits in the 1960s and 1970s routinely plays in Toledo, rocking out to hits like “Does Anybody Really Know What Time it Is,” “Saturday in the Park,” and “Feelin’ Stronger Every Day.”

    The band has sold a staggering 38 million albums in the United States over the course of its long career.

    No opening act has been announced for the 7:30 p.m. show. Tickets are $76, $56, and $36.50.
