Flashing lights, clever sets and a passionate performance from Carrie Underwood thrilled concertgoers Sunday night as the singer’s well-received Blown Away Tour rocked the Huntington Center.

Utilizing elaborate effects and shiny costumes, Underwood made sure to keep her vocals as captivating as the stage display as she performed for nearly two hours. The Oklahoma native offered a varied set list of her twangy-pop hits, from the chart-topping “Jesus Take The Wheel” to “Two Black Cadillacs.”

Much like fellow “American Idol” contestant Kelly Clarkson, Underwood stepped up the intensity on this tour with a more hard-rock style performance to pair with her powerful voice.

With power chords lighting up the crowd, she sang tirelessly in the packed arena and in true rocker fashion, kept the energy high throughout the night. At one point, Underwood and her band cruised across the crowd on a floating platform.

Opening Underwood’s third headlining tour was Grammy-nominated Hunter Hayes, who serenaded the audience with his staple romantic ballads. The singer had previously opened for the Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift.

Underwood belted out around 20 songs during the evening, riling up fans with her popular breakup tune "Undo It" and the heartfelt "See You Again.”

A dollar from each ticket sold to the event was donated to the Red Cross.
