Music to rock Uptown Toledo

The Toledo Club will host its 26th annual Party in the Parking Lot from 5 p.m. to midnight Friday at the club, 235 14th St. Proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs. The party takes place about a block away from the Arts Commission's third annual SoundTrek Live Local Music Experience (see story on Page 11), which includes a kickoff event, Afro-Bean Heads & Threads Show, a natural hair expo and fashion show from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Truth Art Gallery, 1811 Adams St. Admission to the hair show is $10 at the door or $5 with a SoundTrek wristband. Party in the Parking Lot and SoundTrek tickets are $10 in advance and $15 the night of. Attend both events for an additional $5. Maumee Valley Adventurers and Metroparks of the Toledo Area have geared up to host the 25th annual Metroparks Bicycle Tour. Cyclists will spend the day traveling country roads and bikeways at four Metroparks. Participants can choose from four routes, which include a 15-mile ride through Oak Openings Preserve Metropark and a 31-mile trip to Fallen Timbers Monument, Oak Openings and Farnsworth Metroparks. A 62-mile ride and a 100-mile ride, plus traveling the scenic roads of Fulton County, are also planned. Maps will be provided and routes will be marked with pavement arrows. Riders will meet at 7 a.m. Saturday at Fallen Timbers Middle School, 6119 Finzel Rd., Whitehouse. Registration fees range from free to $25. Participants must wear helmets. Parrotheads, put on your best tropical shirt and groove to the sounds of Air Margaritaville, a Jimmy Buffet tribute band. The cover band will perform from 8 p.m. to midnight Friday at Centennial Terrace in Sylvania. Tickets are $7 at the door and limited cabaret style seating is available. Info: centennialterrace.org.
