DETROIT — Tickets for a special concert in Detroit featuring director Steven Spielberg and composer John Williams sold out in record time.

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra says tickets to the show were snapped up 15 minutes after they went on sale to the general public at 9 a.m. today. That’s a Detroit Symphony box-office record.

Fans camped out overnight for the June 14 concert that will benefit the DSO. Free pizza was served at midnight, and doughnuts were doled out at 7 a.m.

Williams will conduct the Detroit Symphony as it performs selections from some of his most popular scores, including “Star Wars,” ‘’Indiana Jones,” ‘’Schindler’s List” and more.

Spielberg will join Williams to host the second half of the evening. He’ll present selections from his decades-long artistic collaboration with Williams.
