Trio to perform at St. Timothy’s church

Chamber-music program scheduled for 5 p.m. Sunday

St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, continuing with its music series called “St. Tim’s Discovers,” will have a chamber-music program at 5 p.m. Sunday featuring clarinetist Georg Klaas, violist Florin Simioanca, and pianist Pamela Ashmore.

St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, continuing with its music series called “St. Tim’s Discovers,” will have a chamber-music program at 5 p.m. Sunday featuring clarinetist Georg Klaas, violist Florin Simioanca, and pianist Pamela Ashmore.

The program, “Romantic Duos and Trios,” will include “Concert Piece for Viola and Piano,” by George Enescu, “Sonata for Clarinet and Piano, Op. 167” by Camille Saint-Saens, “Eight Pieces for Clarinet, Viola, and Piano” by Max Bruch, and Franz Schubert's “Shepherd on the Rock,” with guest soloist Cheryl Babb.

Mr. Klaas is principal clarinetist with the Toledo Symphony and performs with the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra in the summer. Mr. Simioanca also is a member of the Toledo Symphony. Ms. Ashmore performs chamber music throughout the region and is a member of the flute, clarinet, and piano trio Mirepoix. All three musicians are on the music faculty at Ohio Northern University.

The concert is free, but donations will be accepted to defray expenses.
