Welcome to The Blade's
Newspaper in Education (NIE) Website!

Northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan educators have consistently recognized the value of including The Blade as part of their teaching curriculum. The Blade has a long-standing relationship with teachers and its use in the classroom for curriculum in the subject areas of math, reading, geography, history, art, diversity, public opinion, government, social issues, careers and many more Teachers recognize that their involvement with The Blade enhances their teaching efforts and brings the world into their classroom environment. Adult learners also use the resources available on this website.
The Blade NIE program is an established program which started over 50 years ago as a service to the education community. In addition to teachers you will find parents, students and the community engage with the NIE program as way to enhance the academic process.
We are fortunate to have community partners who support our efforts through financial contributions and in-kind donation. We would not be able to deliver the quality of programs we do if it were not for the partnerships we share with these companies and organizations. We thank our lead sponsor Taylor Automotive Family and our community partners, Fifth Third Bank, Imagination Station, Toledo Lucas County Public Library, Metroparks of Toledo and the Valentine Theatre.

Should you have questions regarding the NIE program and would like to partner your organization with the NIE program, please contact:
