PHOENIX — A police bomb squad is searching a Southwest Airlines plane after a possible threat was reported on a flight from Los Angeles to Austin, Texas, and the plane was diverted to Phoenix.
Officials at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport say law enforcement in Los Angeles asked Phoenix police to check out the possible threat today.
Southwest flight 2675 landed safely at Sky Harbor at about 3 p.m. and 143 passengers and the plane's crew got off the plane and boarded several buses.
Sky Harbor spokeswoman Julie Rodriguez says the plane was isolated away from terminals, and flights are arriving and landing as scheduled.
Phoenix police spokesman Sgt. Steve Martos says it will probably take "a couple hours" for a bomb squad and police dogs to go through the plane.
