RENO, Nev.— A 4.2 earthquake was felt near Reno today.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports that the quake was felt by residents in the Reno and Sparks area at about 9 p.m.

The quake was centered at 1.9 miles northeast of Spanish Springs.

Mike Morgan of Wingfield Springs told the newspaper that he could feel the ground shake outside his home, but nothing fell inside.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The newspaper says the U.S. Geological Survey had initially rated the earthquake as a 4.7, but later downgraded the magnitude.
