TRENTON, Mich. — Thousands of marshmallows dropped from the sky in the Detroit area.

And there was no shortage of young people running to pick them up.

The annual Marshmallow Drop took place today at Wayne County parks in Trenton and Westland.

The marshmallows were dropped from a helicopter. Children collected the goodies and turned them in for prizes.

Children were divided into age groups to make sure everyone had a chance to participate.
