ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Three motorcyclists are dead and another is injured following a crash Saturday night on a key Alaska highway north of Anchorage.

Alaska State Troopers spokesman Tim DeSpain says the four motorcyclists struck a vehicle on the Glenn Highway that had been pushed into their northbound lane.

He says the three were pronounced dead at the scene, which is south of Palmer near a key interchange. The injured rider is hospitalized but DeSpain didn’t have condition information.

He says the crash occurred shortly after 8 p.m. when a vehicle stopped to make a turn but was rear-ended by another vehicle and pushed into the oncoming lane. All four oncoming motorcyclists then collided with it. No one else was seriously hurt.

DeSpain says names of the motorcyclists are being withheld until relatives are notified.
