HESPERIA, Calif.— Authorities in San Bernardino County say they have found a fifth victim inside a sedan that was crushed when a van landed on top of it.

Sheriff’s department spokesman Jodi Miller says that once the van was removed from the car, emergency crews found the body of a male juvenile.

The van smashed into the Honda as it was sitting at a stop sign just before 7 a.m. today in Hesperia, a Mojave Desert town east of Los Angeles.

A man and a boy were taken from the car to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead. Initially, authorities saw only two other bodies in the car. The identities of the five haven’t been released.

Miller said the man driving the van was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
