MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. — State police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash on Interstate 75 in suburban Detroit that closed part of the expressway for three hours.

WWJ-AM says the man in his 20s was hit about 6 a.m. today in the northern suburb of Madison Heights. He was hit on I-75’s northbound side and investigators say they don’t know why he was on the roadway.

Police closed a stretch of the northbound expressway for three hours Sunday.

The victim’s identity wasn’t immediately announced.
