Off-duty Detroit officer, husband slain in home

REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich— An off-duty Detroit police officer and her husband have been found shot to death at their home in a suburb just west of the city.

Police in Wayne County’s Redford Township say their officers found the bodies about 11:40 a.m. today while responding to a report of a possible homicide.

Family members tell WXYZ-TV that Officer Anna Hamilton and her husband were having marriage problems.

Redford Township police say in a release that they are “not actively seeking any suspects.”

Detroit police Chief James Craig says the officer had been with the department for 16 years. He says she was “well-liked” and a “great officer.”
