Coroner identifies man, 81, fatally struck by Amtrak passenger train in Santa Clara

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — A man struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Northern California has been identified as an 81-year-old Santa Clara resident.

Coroner’s officials say Kae Ho Kim died Friday after being hit by the Amtrak Capitol Corridor train just south of the Santa Clara station.

The northbound train was traveling from San Jose to Sacramento. None of the 19 passengers on board were injured.

The San Jose Mercury News reports the official cause of death has yet to be determined by the coroner’s office.
