OXNARD, Calif. — Officials say a gas explosion at an Oxnard bakery has left one person injured.

The Ventura County Star reported that the Sunday morning explosion happened inside the Ortiz Bakery, blowing out the store’s windows and injuring one of two people inside the business.

The Oxnard Fire Department transported the injured person to a local hospital.

According to the newspaper the person was later taken to a burn center.

Authorities say the explosion started from the bakery’s oven. They are investigating the cause.

Fire officials say the blast did not cause any structural damage. The bakery’s owner was one of the two inside but escaped unharmed.
