The Arthur Lesow Community Center in Monroe last weekend helped students get ready for the school year. How? By being a focal point for school supplies and services at the Back 2 School Festival. Parents and their children sort through items that will come in handy at school.
Vaccinations were given, sometimes much to the discomfort of some, such as Macie Mills, foreground, held by mother Jennifer Stump. Macie's sister, Danielle Mills, background, watches as nurse Barb Southworth from the Monroe County Health Department administers the shot.
Braxton Campbell waits for a bag of popcorn, one of the festival's treats.
Chelsea Barnier has her hair cut by stylist Holli Weaver from Exsalonce in Monroe.
Hayden McCormick checks the fit of his new supply-filled backpack.
