Way Library helps residents find their ancestors

Sometimes people will ask about my heritage, or where my family roots are from. Sadly, I always used to respond I'm 100 percent Ohioan, in ignorance. 

That was until I found out my dad was actually born in Alabama -- it finally made sense why my grandmother loved Alabama football coach Bear Bryant. 

Clearly, I don't really know the roots of my family, so when I saw Way Public Library had a genealogy program on Tuesday I really wanted to try to figure out some things about my roots.

Richard Baranowski of Way Library led a class of about 12 residents through the library's subscription to an online site called Ancestry.com. If anyone is curious about their ancestors, but doesn't want to pay for the subscription, I recommend stopping by Way Library and use its computers.
