Art fair kicks off in Perrysburg

More than 125 artists from 10 states descended on Levis Commons for their 10th Annual Fine Art Fair Saturday.

Artists presented their work for juried prizes and also sold pieces at the show.

The artists will be back Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to talk to customers and discuss their pieces. The main Levis Commons Boulevard will be closed. After entering the mall visitors will be forced to parking lots on either side of the main strip.

Both Saturday and Sunday, the Toledo School for the Arts planned to host children‘‍s activities. Children were able to take home ’‍“ish prints‘“ crafts. The form of Japanese art is used by fisherman to record the size and species of their catch. There is also free face painting.

“My favorite part is the art itself,” said Casey Pogan, marketing director for The Town Center at Levis Commons. “I’‍m not able to buy from all the artists, but it is cool to see them all. Artists may carry over from years past, but the art is always different.” 

Students at the Toledo School for the Arts also had a booth selling some of their art work.

Kerry Patrick Clark played some live music Saturday evening for the fair. Ms. Pogan said he’‍s a good fit for the fair, because loud music makes it difficult for customers to converse with artists and learn what inspired them, which is what the fair is about she said. 

Fiber, wood, glass, jewelry, photography, metal, painting, and clay are a few of the media used by the artists.
