If you need some recovery from family fights over the Thanksgiving turkey wishbone, here are a few events in the Perrysburg area to soothe your soul and get you back into the holiday spirit.
The premiere event will be the Home for the Holidays Parade, which steps off at 4 p.m. Sunday and culminates with a tree lighting in Hood Park.
The parade will begin at the staging area located at Toth Elementary, will take a left onto East 7th Street, and make a right turn onto Louisiana Avenue, then will follow Louisiana until taking a right onto Front Street, and then make another right onto Elm Street.
The state-title winning Perrysburg High School girls varsity soccer team will serve as grand marshals of the parade, which is presented by Downtown Perrysburg Inc. and will include floats, bands, and of course Santa Claus!
Thanksgiving week is a great time to take in a movie, with some big titles opening. Catch the latest flicks at Rave Cinemas at Levis Commons such as the Red Dawn remake, the teen-scream sensation The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2, presidential drama Lincoln, or the animated Rise of the Guardians to get all of your holiday senses tingling.
If you've slugged it out during the whole Black Friday shopping madness, treat yourself to a "Dessertini" and chill out by listening to local musician Meaghan Roberts tickle the keys and strum the strings from 8 p.m. to midnight Friday at Stella's.
