Laughing, dancing, music, author on tap in Perrysburg area

On the days after Valentine's Day, Perrysburg is at the heart of many opportunities for you to laugh, dance, listen to music, or get writing tips from an author. And that's just for starters.

Here's a look at some of those "Hey, what's going on?" events in the area.


At the Funny Bone Comedy Club: Fat Fish Blue, 6140 Levis Commons Blvd., John Heffron has several performances on tap: today at 7 p.m.; Friday at 8 and 10:30 p.m.; Saturday at 7 and 10 p.m., and Sunday at 7 p.m.


At Owens Community College's Center for Fine and Performing Arts, 30335 Oregon Rd., the Walter E. Terhune Art Gallery is featuring Rock On: Photographs by Baron Wolman through March 28.

River House Arts, 115 W. Front St., is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

At the Way Public Library, 101 E. Indiana Ave., Music Mania, music-related art and written works by PRIZM artists, is on display through March 27. Hours: Mon.-Thu., 9 a.m.-8:30; Fri-Sat: 9 a.m.-5:30, Sun., 1-5.


Acoustic, Stella’s Restaurant and Bar, 104 Louisiana Ave., Acoustic Soul performs today, and Kyle White on Saturday.

Blues, Stella’s Restaurant and Bar, Pete ‘Big Dog’ Fetters Show will be taking the stage on Friday.

Jazz and Big Band, Holiday Inn French Quarter: 10630 State Rt. 20, has booked Quixotic on Friday and Saturday, and on Sunday in the Jackson Square Atrium, Gene Parker’s brunch show.


A Val­en­tine’s Day dance is slated at the Per­rys­burg Heights Com­mu­nity Center, 12282 Jef­fer­son St., doors open at 7 p.m., dance 8 p.m.-mid­night Saturday. Per­form­ing will be the Te­jano Sound Band and Grupo Il­lu­sion. Cash bar. Din­ner avail­able for pur­chase. Tick­ets: $15 per per­son or $25 per cou­ple and can be pur­chased by call­ing 419-283-1495 or at the door day of event.


From 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Way Public Library, author Jim Hines will be featured during a Northwest Ohio Writers Forum, providing details on how to add diversity in  characters and avoid the traps of stereotyping. Mr. Hines, author of the the Goblin Quest fantasy novels as well as the Princess series, won a Hugo award for his blog exploring gender and cover art for novels. His latest book, Libriomancer, is available from Daw Books.


Some Perrysburg High School athletes will be on the basketball court and others will be on the wrestling mat.
