Owens Community College’s School of Technology invites area racing car and truck enthusiasts to its Perrysburg Township campus to see a display of competition vehicles and to learn more about careers in welding and the automotive industry at the 17th annual Lincoln Motorsports Welding Night on Thursday, April 4.
The event is 6 to 9 p.m. in the college’s Transportation Technologies Center. Admission is free and open to the public.
Vehicles featured will include trucks, stock racing cars, drag racing cars and drag bikes, among others. In addition, an ARCA truck and car as well as a 305 Sprint car will be on display.
Karl Hoes of the Lincoln Electric Co. will serve as the guest speaker. He is an instructor for Lincoln Electric and performs welding on NASCAR, Nationwide, ARCA and IRL vehicles. He is a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association in Wisconsin and involved heavily with the IRL and ARCA Truck series. He will speak at 7 p.m. in Transportation Technologies Center Room 168.
Representatives from Toledo Speedway, Norwalk Raceway Park, Attica Raceway Park, and other businesses are to be on hand.
