Last year's Annual Cruise by the River in Perrysburg drew hundreds of spectators.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, the 13 Annual Car Cruise Show will close Louisiana Avenue between Indiana Avenue and Front Street.
Downtown Perrysburg Inc.'s Executive Director Rick Thielen expects about 225 classic cars and motorcycles to fill up Louisiana Avenue. Cars usually will start showing up about 6 a.m. and can register until 9 a.m. before the road closes, he said.
"Some car shows have restrictions; we'll allow any cars or motorcycles," Mr. Thielen said. "We have a Corvette Club coming out, a Mustang Club, Signature Harley Davidson is a sponsor."
Registration will cost car owners $15. Project iAm will receive 100 percent of the registration fee via check around noon from Mr. Thielen. He is hoping it is at least a $500 check. Project iAm financially helps families affected by autism.
Cindy Slee will be performing downtown, and on East Second Street there will be a beer tent. The Exchange Club of Perrysburg will sell hot dogs and hamburgers.
The car show will have 36 honored cars. There were 18 businesses which paid $250 to be sponsors that are able to pick a car that wins a plaque, and there will be runner ups for each of the sponsors.
For Mr. Thielen and workers setting up the car show, it will be a short turn around from the August First Friday event from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday in the same location.
