A garden-tractor pull from last year's Penta Ag Day shows some of the fun for this year's event.
Flower and tree sales, dog grooming, tractor pulls, Dodge test driving, recycling, and hair cuts are among the activities to take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Penta Career Center lawn.
It is the third Ag Day that Penta is hosting to showcase several departments. This year, Ag Day will have a Cut-A-Thon, at which the hair design and cosmetology students will give haircuts and from which 100 percent of proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
"We will have a big crowd here," said Jim Henline, the school's supervisor of the agriculture and transportation. "It has gotten bigger every year. It is all dependent on the weather which it looks like it will be cool and clear Saturday."
Penta is at 9301 Buck Rd. in Perrysburg Township. It is free to attend and there will be food and beverages available to buy.
For the best selection of flowers, trees, and shrubs, Mr. Henline said, arrive early.
Children can compete in a tractor pull (although they will ride bicycles) or they can get their faces painted. Adults can try a garden tractor pull, or can purchase flowers, trees, and shrubs, get their dog groomed, take a Dodge vehicle for a test drive, receive a hair cut, or recycle electronics.
"It's a neat day, there is a lot going on," Mr. Henline said.
