Grammy-nominee finalist, blues rock band Buck69, will be hitting Perrysburg for its weekly Music at the Market 7 p.m. Thursday at the Commodore Schoolyard.

The Toledo band usually doesn‘‍t play smaller shows, but Robin Ballmer, the concert series coordinator, talked the group into performing at this show and at Harrison Rally Day.

“We’‍ve played at the Ohio State Fair, and the Fourth of July Red, White, and Kaboom in years past,” said Tom Clawson, singer and songwriter for the group. “Smaller shows are very personal with people right there and no big stages. People can come out and relax, it is a lot of fun and not a lot of pressure.”

The show will run until 8:30 p.m., which follows the Perrysburg Farmer‘‍s Market on Louisiana Avenue from 3 to 8 p.m.

The band plays a mix of songs Mr. Clawson wrote. He and his son Alex formed the band in 2004 to be a blues rock band mixing electric contemporary blues.

The band has received recognition, but none bigger than a 2008 Grammy Award nomination finalist for best contemporary blues album with its When She Whispers Your Name

“I’‍m 55 and I‘‍ve traveled all of the country,” Mr. Clawson said when asked about what he writes his songs about. “I’‍ve hitchhiked, been on a Texas shrimp boat, slept in underpasses with a guitar. I have lots of stories including women, booze, and having a good time.”
