The 54th annual Five Point Steam Threshers drew generations of farmers on Sunday to Jim and Dianne Harbauer‘‍s farm in Perrysburg Township.

Thousands of people come to the 35-40 acre field at State Rt. 199 and Bayer Road to check out different antique farming demonstrations through wheat threshers, steam engines, and saw mill.

“I enjoy the continuation from generations of learning and enjoying the same hobby,” Mrs. Harbauer said. Her father-in-law, husband, and son took part in the event.

“I’‍m looking at it, going, ‘‍Wow, hundreds of years ago someone thought about all these intricacies, They were really smart,’‍ ” she said.

There was steamed bean soup, fresh sweet corn, kettle popcorn, and hot dogs and hamburgers from Boy Scouts.

For children, there was a kiddie tractor pull where they got to test their strength and earned participation ribbons. While children were having fun, older generations were able to reminisce about different equipment they or their family had.
