Michelle Gorcz, of Perrysburg, left, browsed through the selection of books today at the Friends of Way Public Library Early Bird Holiday Book Sale.
Michelle Gorcz, of Perrysburg, thumbed through crates of children's books today in the basement of Way Public Library in Perrysburg.
Her second-grade daughter is a voracious reader, she said, and nieces and nephews in South Carolina love getting books in the mail from her.
"I just want to encourage reading," she said.
That her purchases were quality books for cheap prices that would benefit the library was a "win-win," Ms. Gorcz said.

The Friends of Way Public Library volunteer group puts on a sale about every other month, netting anywhere from $500 to $2,000 for the institution, said Friends treasurer Barbara Blem of Perrysburg.
Nabi Lalonde, of Perrysburg, left, carried a nearly overflowing bag of books to the check out line today during the Friends of Way Public Library Early Bird Holiday Book Sale.
The titles are culled from the library's collection and donated from patrons, and range from paperback novels and best-sellers, biographies and travel books, to cookbooks and self-help books.
"Some of them are out-of-this-world beautiful," Ms. Blem said.
The book sales will return after volunteers help put on the library's annual Snowball Family Fun Night, which is scheduled for Jan. 25, 2013.
"The library has a lot to offer," Ms. Gorcz said.
