Penta Career Center offers free CNC machine programming session

People interested in CNC machine programming can attend a free, 7 p.m. Feb. 20 information session at Penta Career Center in Perrysburg Township.

The session, part of the Adult & Continuing Education office, will be at the center at 9301 Buck Rd.

“We decided to begin this program because many employers in our region are hiring CNC technicians and machinists that need training,” said Kevin Whitltach, director of Penta’s Adult & Continuing Education division. “We are anticipating that many people are retiring from this industry and the need for adequately trained machine programmers and operators to replace these retirees will increase.”

Representatives from the Wood County Jobs and Family Services office will be on hand to discuss possible financial assistance for adult students. Representatives from Rosenboom Machine and Tool, a manufacturer of hydraulic cylinders and machine parts in Bowling Green, also will be in attendance to discuss possible hiring opportunities.

The CNC Machine Programmer Training is a 120-hour course that will start March 18 and end June 26 pm Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Potential students must pass a pre-admission test.

For more information or to register, call Brad Luebcke, Penta Adult Education program coordinator, at 419-661-6555.
