Ray Pohlman, Perrysburg athletic director, is to retire May 31.
Perrysburg High School Athletic Director Ray Pohlman is set to retire May 31, but it does not look like he will be out of the position for long.
Mr. Pohlman and Perrysburg Schools Superintendent Tom Hosler both said they hoped he would be rehired and continue to work as athletic director.
Mr. Hosler said it would likely be with a reduced salary from what he was making, but Mr. Pohlman will receive his retirement benefits. His 2012 salary was $102,396. He has worked in the school district for 34 years, the last nine as athletic director and the previous seven before that as assistant athletic director.
"The bottom line is I need to retire with the way the retirement system is," Mr. Pohlman said. "I hope to be back here next year."
Mr. Hosler is expecting and hoping for the same. He said Mr. Pohlman is great to work with and has good experience.
