City of Sylvania Councilman Katie Cappellini has been appointed to serve on the seven-member Housing Council, which oversees the Community Reinvestment Area that covers the downtown district.
On Wednesday the Employee and Community Relations Committee approved the appointment, and council is expected to give the final approval when it meets Tuesday. Property owners within a community reinvestment area can receive tax incentives for specified types of improvements to buildings or homes, to be determined by a housing officer.
The council resolves disputes or appeals of such decisions.
Seven members will serve on the housing council.
