With Plato’s Closet of Sylvania opening at 5644 Monroe St. in Sylvania on Friday, local teens and twenty-something residents will have a place to bring that stylish clothing that has been overflowing their closets and dressers.
The store buys and sells gently used, name brand clothing, as well as accessories and other teen items.
“Our store fills a distinct niche in the retail market,” said Michelle Ervin, store manager. “We are part of the only national resale business that specializes in the teen and the young adult market group, allowing teens and young adults to refresh their wardrobes as fashion changes.”
Unlike a typical consignment store, Plato’s Closet gives customers cash for what they bring in, on the spot.
There are more than 225 Plato’s Closet locations in the United States and Canada, individually owned and operated but with the Winmark Corp. chain.
