A wedding cake was on display during the open house today at Eston's Bakery, 5433 Monroe Street in Sylvania Township.
A local artist, who keeps his studio in Sylvania, had the chance to talk about his work to spectators today as Eston's Bakery hosted a ribbon cutting and celebration.
The event, featuring the artwork of Harold Roe, who is a nationally known wildlife artist, also included cake, cupcakes and Jet's Pizza. The bakery partners with Jet's Pizza for party packages.
The ceremony was to denote Eston's newest store at 5433 Monroe St.
Mr. Roe's artwork was on display in the bakery's exhibition space as well, and he spoke to visitors about his many years of experience as a wildlife artist. He used to work as an architect and his work has been accepted for exhibits at the National Wildlife Art Show, where he was a featured artist in 1990. Mr. Roe also won best of show in the competition, for 10 consecutive years.
