Displays from 2011 at the Dragonfly Artisan Tea Cottage in Sylvania.
Dragonfly Artisan Tea Cottage, 5723 N. Main St., known for serving quiche and soups during the lunch hour, will close its doors on Feb. 22.
A notice on the shop's Facebook page says the business will close after three years of service in the Sylvania community.
"...Rumors are flying around and it is about The Dragonfly closing...well yes it is true..." the post said.
Owners of the store have not returned repeated calls from The Blade for comment.
The Facebook post cited "tough economic times" as one of the reasons for closing. A new, unnamed tenant is expected to move into the space in March. The business plans to reduce its hours over the next week and a half of business.
The well-known soups will not be going away forever, however. The owners have started a program called “Dragonfly Community Supported Dining,” which is a membership program that will offer members soup, bread, and teas.
