When Sylvania First United Methodist Church hosts its annual Bazaar and Quilt show on Saturday, many of the vendors will sell do-it-yourself crafts and art.

Event chair Caitlin Keener said this year's larger focus on that type of work is in response to seeing more people crafting on their own.

“There's actually a lot, like stay-at-home moms who do crafts,” Ms. Keener said. “I just wanted the people to be able to see that...the stuff that people buy on Etsy, we have people here in Toledo that do it.”

She said allowing people to showcase their work at the bazaar is also going to be a big part of the show.

“We can keep our money in Toledo and support people here,” she said. The church has been hosting the bazaar and quilt show for about 50 years. Currently, they have 27 vendors who will set up shop to sell their goods.

“But we're still accepting applications until the 12th,” Ms. Keener said. In addition to quilts for sale, the event will also feature paper products, crocheted work, party items and commercial vendors like Tupperware and Scentsy. Artists will also feature their work and services.

“We'll have photographers [and] people making bows and tutus for little girls. There will be something for everyone I think,” she said. The show will last on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
