The third weekend of November in Sylvania has two main events to keep you entertained: a craft show and a performance by Northview High School students.
Here's more information about what's going on this weekend:
One of the most popular musicals of all time, The Sound of Music, will play at Sylvania Northview Theatre this weekend. Based on music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, the play is also based on a book written by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. The program tells the story of a governess, dispatched to care for the seven children of a widowed Naval captain.
Performance times are 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. The Northview Performing Arts Center is located at 5403 Silica Dr. For more information, visit www.northviewtheatre.org. For tickets for Saturday and Sunday performances, call 419-824-8719. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.
The Southview High School band is sponsoring a Shop & Crop event from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. at the school, located at 7225 Sylvania Ave. The event is designed for scrapbookers, card makers, and other crafters. The ticket price is $25 and includes breakfast, lunch, and a raffle ticket. Assistance from an employee of Creative Memories, a scrapbooking supply company, will be available. A craft fair, with 10 vendors, will also take place between 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and is open to the public. For more information, go to www.southviewband.com.
