Parents and children filled in downtown Sylvania’s Main Street from Monroe Street to Maplewood Avenue. They watched the animated film based on Dr. Seuss' classic book.

Taking it to the Streets Movie Night was hosted by the Downtown Sylvania Association, the Sylvania Area Chamber of Commerce, and other community organizations.

Movie goers walked along around Sylvania's downtown district, taking their pick from food vendors that lined the street selling hot dogs, shaved ice cream, funnel cake, and other theater snacks for the outdoor event, which started at 7 p.m.

Once the sun went down, the feature film was shown on two giant screens, each at the end of the street.

This is the third year that the children were treated to a free movie after finishing the school year.

Another movie night is scheduled for 7 p.m. Aug. 8, with the showing of Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted. The film will begin at dusk.
