Sylvania Township has had an increase in the number of permits for houses this year compared to last.
Permits for single-family houses through May this year is 32, up from 17 in 2012 and 18 in 2011, said Daryl Graus, township planning and zoning manager.
Anyone building a new house in the township is required to obtain a permit.
Revenue from the permits, he said, is $7,754,500 this year. Revenue from such permits for the full years of 2012 and 2011 was about $2 million each.
Permit numbers for June haven't been tallied yet, he added.
