Sylvania area crime log, fire runs 10/10

Here are the crimes reported to Sylvania and Sylvania Township police departments in the past week. Sylvania Township Fire Department runs also are listed.

Sylvania Police

Oct. 1

Theft. Cheryl Himmel, 6900 block of Williamsburg Drive, reported that several items, including jewelry and Vicodin tablets were taken from her residence.

Oct. 2

Taking identity of another. Anthony Campbell, 6500 block of Erie Street, reported that an unknown person used his identity to open a credit card account at Home Depot and make an unauthorized purchase totaling $463.18.

Oct. 3

Taking identity of another. Helen Spears, 6800 block of Convent Boulevard, reported that someone filed a fraudulent tax return using her information.

Oct. 5

Theft. Tina Feichtinger, 5600 block of Dornell Drive, reported that someone broke into her unlocked vehicle and stole a portable DVD player and an Ohio driver's license.

Oct. 6

Burglary. Anthony Arite, 4300 block of Garden Estates Drive, reported his residence was broken into and several items were stolen, including a flat-screen television, a crossbow, two BB rifles, a DVD player, and bottle of Avion Silver Tequila.

Sylvania Township Police

Oct. 1

Theft. David Leininger, 9500 block of Eviedale Road, reported items were stolen from three vehicles are parked outside his home every night.

Oct. 2

Theft. Paul Reichert, 8200 block of West Central Ave., reported that he let someone borrow his motor home and when it was returned, about 25 items had been stolen from the vehicle.

Oct. 3

Theft. JCC, 6465 W. Sylvania Ave., a person who had been using the shower at the YMCA/JCC building reported that when he returned to his gym locker, his iPhone was stolen. The locker was unlocked.

Oct. 6

Burglary. Quizno's, 6819 W. Central Ave., a store employee reported $300 in cash, one soup pot, and a change holder containing $150 were stolen from the restaurant.

5400 block of South Main Street, alarm system activation.
