Sylvania area crime log, fire runs 12/19

Here are the crimes reported to Sylvania and Sylvania Township police departments in the past week. Sylvania Township Fire Department runs also are listed.

Sylvania Police

Dec. 12

Theft. Rosary Care Center, 6832 Convent Blvd., reported that a visitor said her AT&T cell phone and a black coat were stolen.

Theft. Debra Lorenzen, 5400 block of Allison Lane, reported that $200 in cash and a Sony PSP console were stolen from her home.

Taking identity of another. James Dubinsky, 6600 block of Brint Road, reported that someone stole his credit card number and used it to make an unauthorized purchase.

Dec. 15

Assault. Jesse Lyon, 5600 block of W. Alexis Road, reported that a person punched him in the face twice.

Theft. Stanley Patryak, 5600 block of W. Alexis Road, said someone stole a catalytic converter from his home.

Dec. 17

Theft. Kroger Timberstone, 7545 Sylvania Ave., reported that a person left the store without paying for Power Rangers figurines and two red rubber balls. The items totaled $10.38 in value.

Sylvania Township Police

Dec. 11

Burglary. Delores Scott, 2900 block of Moffat Road, reported that the following items were stolen from her property: a TV, a fire safe, $3,000 in cash inside the safe and rifle gun.

Dec. 12

Burglary. Susan Valdez, 3500 block of Fairbanks Dr., reported that an X-box game console, two games and one controller were stolen from her residence.

Theft. Chris Blessing, 2800 block of N. Holland-Sylvania Road, reported that his Citibank Visa card, a KeyBank Mastercard and a Chase Freedom credit card were stolen from his locker while he was working out at Urban Active Fitness.

Dec. 13

Breaking and entering. Carter Lumber, 2716 N. Reynolds Road, reported that sometime overnight, a suspect entered an outdoor warehouse and stole an unknown amount of insulation, rolled roofing and air nails.

Dec. 16

Attempted robbery. BP Gas Station, 6437 W. Central Ave., said a white female in her late 20s approached the counter of the gas station and demanded money. When the cashier said "no," the attempted robber said "I will be back." She then left in a vehicle and drove away.

Dec. 12

Central Avenue and Holland-Sylvania Road, service call.

2300 block of Castlebrooke Lane, smoke scare.

5800 block of Sun Breeze Trail, shorted electrical issue.

Dec. 14

5300 block of Elmer Dr., assist invalid.

4700 block of Sheringham Lane, gas leak.

5700 block of Mallard Pointe Lane, outside rubbish issue.

Dec. 15

4900 block of Brint Road and Holland-Sylvania Road, vehicle accident.

4200 block of Holland-Sylvania Road, dispatched and canceled en route.

Dec. 16

5100 block of Summer Drive, dispatched and canceled en route.

U.S. 23 SB & Central Ave., no incident found on arrival.

Dec. 17

5800 block of Brainard Drive, assist invalid.

7900 block of Hedingham Road, road freight or transport issue.

6600 block of Wickford Square, alarm system sounded.

4400 block of Old Lyme Drive, unintentional transmission issue.

4800 block of Parkgate Place, dispatched and canceled en route.
