Sylvania area crime log, fire runs 9/10

Here are the crime reports from Sept. 3 through Sept. 10 from Sylvania and Sylvania Township police departments. Also included are the fire runs from the Sylvania Township Fire Department.

Sylvania Police

Sept. 4

Theft. Stacey Lynn Bates, 8000 block of Saint Clair Street, Morenci Mich., reported stolen from her vehicle $500, two trailer hitch balls worth $27, a wallet worth $15, a credit card, and personal documents. The vehicle was parked at Flower Hospital, 5200 Harroun Rd.

Sept. 6

Theft. Ralph Spahlinger, 4100 block of Rodeo Drive, reported that he was deceived in giving away $2,161.

Theft. Vin Devers Autohaus of Sylvania, 5570 Monroe St., reported a Gateway computer stolen.

Sept. 9

Theft. Tan Pro, 7615 W. Sylvania Ave., reported an unidentified person took a bottle of tanning lotion worth $92.

Theft and drug paraphernalia. Soft Touch Car Wash, 6307 Monroe St., reported a suspect took an eGo-C electronic cigarette worth $50, and six packs of Marlboro cigarettes worth $37.56. The electronic cigarette was found on the suspect, including a glass pipe containing a drug residue.

Sylvania Township Police

Sept. 3

Theft. Walmart, 5821 W. Central Ave., reported four Blu-ray movies stolen. The combined value of the movies was $103.84. Police took a suspect into custody at that time.

Sept. 4

Theft. Bernhardt Zeiher, 2300 block of Parliament Square, reported stolen a ladies diamond necklace valued at $8,669, a gold diamond pendant valued at $2,040, and a ladies diamond pendant enhancer valued at $2,647.

Theft. Site Solutions, 720 Laskey Road, reported stolen a STIHL backpack blower worth $800, and a STIHL edger and trimmer valued at $600 stolen from the bed of the work truck. The truck was located at Caribou Coffee, 6975 W. Central Ave.

Sept. 5

Theft. Speedway, 5430 Monroe St., reported that an unidentified person used three $100 counterfeit bills to purchase a money order. There is video of the suspect leaving the gas station by foot.

Sept. 6

Theft. True North, 5473 Monroe St., reported an unidentified person used three $100 counterfeit bills to purchase a money order. There is video of the suspect. Police believe the suspect could be the same person who used counterfeit bills at Speedway the day before.

Theft. Aardvark Painting, 206 Wamba Ave., reported stolen a company sign pitched in a yard at the 7300 block of Regents Park Boulevard, where workers were painting. The sign was valued at $100.

Theft. Complete Refrigeration, 13336 Bishop Rd., Bowling Green, reported various clothing items, and shoes, stolen from a company vehicle. The total value of the items was $210. The vehicle was parked at Giant Eagle, 6930 W. Central Ave.

Sylvania Township Fire Department

Sept. 4

2200 block of Stonybrook Boulevard, cooking fire.

Sept. 5

5700 block of Monroe Street, smoke scare, smoke odor.

Sept. 6

Intersection of Holland-Sylvania Road and Sylvania Avenue, gas leak.

Sept. 8

7300 block of Regents Park Boulevard, trash or rubbish fire.
