Sylvania area crime log, fire runs 9/24

Here are the crime reports from Sept. 17 through Sept. 24 from Sylvania and Sylvania Township police departments. Also included are the fire runs from the Sylvania Township Fire Department.

Sylvania Police

Sept. 16

Theft. Ryan Ryder, 5700 block of Dornell Drive, reported stolen from his home a Blu-ray DVD player valued at $190, clothing valued at $300, and phone chargers valued at $30.

Rape. A Sylvania teenage girl reported she was forced to engage in sexual activity. The incident allegedly occurred at Olander Park, 6930 Sylvania Ave. Two suspects were arrested on Sept. 17.

Burglary. Jason Dimodica, 5500 block of Bent Oak Road, reported a plasma TV stolen from his home. It was valued at $400.

Sept. 17

Theft. Andrea Evelin Ryan, 5200 block of Main Street, reported her debit card was taken from her home and used without consent. There was $103 in purchases made without permission.

Sept. 18

Burglary. Inna Gorovoy, 3400 block of Piney Pointe Drive, reported that someone, without permission, entered her property in the 6500 block of Cornwall Court.

Sylvania Township Police

Sept. 18

Theft. Matthew Moenter, 4300 block of Lyman Avenue, reported someone stole the catalytic converter from his vehicle. The vehicle was parked on 9600 block of Sylvania-Metamora Road.

Sept. 19

Theft. Target, 5225 Monroe St., reported that someone stole $199 worth of PlayStation games and various merchandise with a combined value of $163.89.

Theft. Target, 5225 Monroe St., reported someone stole an Android Tablet worth $179.92 and a digital camera worth $149.99.

Theft. Jessica Seymour, 700 block of Pine Valley Lane, reported her wallet and credit cards stolen. She said the incident occurred while she was shopping at Walmart, 5821 W. Central Ave.

Sept. 20

Theft. Target, 5225 Monroe St., reported stolen about $500 worth of PlayStation games and about $500 worth of clothing.

Sept. 21

Theft. Garrett Samson, 2600 block of Amara Drive, reported someone stole from his car an iPod valued at $200, a Snap-on multimeter valued at $400, an HP laptop worth $300, and $600 worth of college books. The incident occurred at 4600 block of Homerdale Ave.

Theft. Gus Valhos, 200 block of Walnut Street, Libertyville, Illinois, reported stolen an HP laptop, a black bag, and box of pens stolen from his vehicle. The car was located at the 4400 block of Ancona Drive.

Sept. 22

Theft. Toledo Hospital, 2142 N. Cove Dr., reported stolen from an emergency vehicle a GPS, two cameras, and $40. The incident occurred while the vehicle was parked at a residence located at 5000 block of Cartagena Drive.

Sept. 23

Theft. Margaret Pavilen, of Holland, reported someone ripped a purse from her shoulder as she was putting away her groceries in Meijer’s parking lot, 7240 W. Central Ave. The leather purse, valued at $150, contained $87, and $100 worth of items.

Theft. Jim’s Custom Hardwood Floors, 9130 Geiser Rd., Holland, reported $700 taken from a work bag. The bag was inside a company vehicle parked at 2300 block of Centennial Road.

Sylvania Township Fire Department

Sept. 18

6600 block of Maplewood Avenue, dumpster or other outside trash fire.

Sept. 19

5100 ;block of Monroe Street, emergency medical service, party transported.

Sept. 21

Intersection of Erie Street and Main Street, passenger vehicle fire.

3300 block of Percentum Road, brush and grass fire.

Sept. 22

5700 block of Centennial Road, rescue standby.

4200 block of Holland-Sylvania Road, cooking fire.
