Sylvania area crime log, fire runs 12/24

Here are the crime reports from Dec. 10 through Dec. 24 from Sylvania and Sylvania Township police departments. Also included are the fire runs from the Sylvania Township Fire Department.

Sylvania Police

Dec. 12

Theft. Jill Miller, 3600 block of Revere Drive, reported $400 of purchases on a Visa card.

Dec. 16

Passing bad checks. Gramz Flowers and Gifts, 4507 N. Holland-Sylvania Rd., reported someone made a purchase in the amount of $89.88 using a check from a closed account.

Theft. Gregory Bardwell, 5100 block of Franciscan Boulevard, reported $595 stolen.

Dec. 17

Theft. Sylvan Cleaners, 4900 McCord Rd., reported stolen $825.35.

Dec. 20

Taking identity of another. Patrice Filcek, 5300 block of Brandy Lane, reported two unauthorized charges, totaling $73.83, made on her debit card.

Receiving stolen property. Toledo Coin Exchange, reported someone was in the possession of stolen property. The items, gold and silver jewelry, were worth more than $7,000. Police arrested a suspect.

Dec. 21

Theft. Patricia Quick, 300 block of Elm Street, Deerfield, Mich., reported stolen from her car $400 worth of Christmas gifts, toys and clothing. The incident occurred at the parking lot at 5644 Monroe Street.

Sylvania Township Police

Dec. 11

Theft. Taylor Cadillac, 6100 W. Central Ave., reported stolen eight tires for the 2014 Cadillac Escalade.

Dec. 12

Theft. Central Trucking, 8550 Central Ave., reported stolen a radiator worth $1,300 and $500 worth of scraps.

Dec. 15

Theft. Cory Vail, 5600 block of Alexis Road, reported a wallet stolen. It contained $80, credit and identification cards. The incident occurred at Yum Yum Chinese Restaurant, 7414 W. Central Ave.

Dec. 16

Theft. Chuck Anderson, 2800 block of Centennial Road, reported stolen from a storage shed, 25 aluminum wheels, eight car batteries, each valued at $120.

Theft. Matthew Tabin, 2200 block of Eutaw Place, Baltimore, Maryland, reported stolen an iPhone worth $680. The incident occurred at Speedway, 5904 W. Central Ave.

Theft. Jessica White, 4300 block of Alexis Road, reported stolen clothes and jewelry. The items had a total value of $140.

Dec. 17

Theft. Elbert Stewart, 2500 block of Cherry Lake Road, reported a $700 auto-payment was made from his bank account to Toledo Edison.

Dec. 18

Theft. Mark Stansley, 8600 block of Eordogh Drive, reported stolen from a storage unit more than 6,500 hand tools, with a value up to $12,000. The storage unit was located at a vacant lot on the 3100 block of Centennial Road.

Burglary. John Fallis, 6000 block of Westacre Lane, reported someone broke into his home and stole jewelry, rare coins, and a flat screen TV.

Dec. 19

Burglary. Edward Smith, 2200 block of Manoa Road, reported someone broke into his home and stole the Christmas gifts under the tree.

Theft. Edward Konoff, 5900 block of Blossman Road, reported stolen from a storage unit two Kawasaki 450X motorcycles, valued at $5,000 each. The vehicles was stored at King Road Storage, 3430 King Rd.

Robbery. Mountain Man Sports, 2735 Reynolds Rd., reported someone stole a rack of North Face jackets, with a total value of $1,000. The suspect fled in the car. Witnesses did get a license plate number.

Robbery. Gabriel Brothers, 5223 Monroe St., reported various merchandise items stolen. The items had a total value of $267.78. An employee who tried to stop one of the suspects from fleeing the store with an armload of clothing, was pushed to the ground and punched by one of the suspects.

Dec. 20

Theft. Golf Galaxy, 5223 Monroe St., reported someone stole a Leupold Rangefinder worth $500.

Dec. 22

Theft. Speedway, 5904 W. Central Ave., reported two suspects came into the store and confused employees by asking for change for a $100 and $50. Employees believe they may have given the change twice to the suspects.

Dec. 23

Burglary. Marianne Keller, 2200 block of North Irwin Road, reported someone smashed through a home window, while she was in the house. The person, holding an object, fled once she saw him.

Theft. Mayvic Siedlecki, 11900 block of Jackman Road, Temperance, reported someone stole her purse, while she was shopping at Walmart, 5821 W. Central Ave. It contained credit and gift cards, as well as personal checks.

Dec. 11

5100 block of Monroe Street, electrical wiring and equipment.

Dec. 13

5100 block of Spring Street, cooking fire.

4500 block of McCord Road, arcing or shorted electrical equipment.

Dec. 17

2800 block of Reynolds Road, water or steam leak.

Dec. 18

7000 block of Westwind Drive, smoke scare and smoke odor.

Intersection of Erie Street and Elden Drive, EMS call, vehicle accident.

4600 Crosstick Court, gas leak.

Dec. 19

4100 block of Forestlawn Road, heat from short circuit.

Dec. 21

6000 block of Red Oak Drive, gas leak.

6800 Woodmeadow Drive, passenger vehicle fire.
