“The community that exists has helped me to forge great relationships now and will allow me to cultivate relationships in my career. The value of learning has helped me to always pursue the truth and encouraged me to always learn more. The reverence learned will allow me to better respect my future patients and understand their humanity. Finally, the community of service has helped me to realize all I have been blessed with and has given me a desire to share that with others.”

“Lourdes University provides a culture that values serving the community and offers everyone multiple opportunities to help others.”

Joseph Esposito, psychology major: $4,000 undergraduate scholarship.

A transfer student with the long-term goal of earning a doctorate in psychology, Joseph says Lourdes has provided invaluable tools.

“Passion for your topic, a strong worth ethic, and a drive to succeed are all prerequisites to having a successful graduate school experience. My Lourdes experience will have put me in the best position possible to succeed. Lourdes continues to fill me with inspiration and passion for success that I will take into the world, and use to inspire others.”

Jennifer Heinze, theology major, $1,000 graduate scholarship.

As an alumna returning to Lourdes more than 10 years after receiving her bachelor’s degree, Jennifer believes her upcoming graduate degree in theology will change her life for the better.

“I have long had the desire to work with people and help build within them a stronger connection with God and also to introduce God to those who may no know Him. My job is to be ready to listen and Lourdes is helping me do just that.”

Julianna Hergenreder, nursing major: $4,000 undergraduate scholarship.

As a Type I diabetic, Julianna knows firsthand the struggles diabetic children face.

“Being diagnosed at the age of 8 has taught me to never give up in fulfilling the toughest tasks that life has to offer,” she says.

With a nursing degree, Julianna believes her experiences will be beneficial in providing needed care for these children, particularly teenagers.

“I can help better people’s lives and help diabetics become healthy in their battle to live with such a life threatening disease.”

Sara Krafft, nurse anesthesia program major, $1,000 graduate scholarship.

“As a nurse anesthesia student at Lourdes University, I have embarked on a unique journey to perfect a craft that is centered on the betterment of human health,” offers Sara. “

My degree will supply me with the tools necessary to pursue a lifetime of community service directed at those in need of healthcare. Through my accomplishments at Lourdes, I will have the ability to provide a much needed service to the community.”

Jeff Mack, organizational leadership major, $1,000 graduate scholarship.

As the Glass Studio Manager at the Toledo Museum of Art, Jeff’s passion for art led him to his chosen profession; however, the roles and responsibility of his current position led him to Lourdes University’s Graduate School.

“I started out as someone who makes things; but am growing into someone who makes things happen here in Toledo, as a direct result of my study of Organizational Leadership at Lourdes University.”

Susan Russell, theology major: $1,000 graduate scholarship.

“My desire for a graduate degree in theology grew from my post retirement involvement in my parish Corpus Christi University Parish,” says Susan.

“The Master of Theology program will help me deepen my understanding of my Catholic faith and assist me in providing better pastoral care to others.”
