The 2013 Ohio EdTA State Thespian Conference will be hosted by Sylvania Northview High School.
The conference will run March 1-3, marking the the first time that school has been host to the conference. The school, however, has been selected to perform at the conference for many years at the conference. The school's theater troupe is one of the few schools in Ohio to have been selected to perform their fall musical, The Sound of Music, at the conference.
The event will take place inside the newly renovated theater at the school.
The Ohio Educational Theatre Association is an official chapter of the Educational Theatre Association, the professional association for theater educators, with more than 4,600 members internationally. The honorary society for high school theater students, the International Thespian Society, has troupes in nearly 4,000 schools in the United States and has inducted over 2 million members since its founding in 1929. Ohio EdTA has over 200 Thespian Troupes and Junior troupes enrolled.
The Ohio Educational Theatre Association creates an artistic, educational and professional network for theater arts educators, students, professionals, and enthusiasts to share ideas and support the effort to have theater arts education recognized in all phases of education and lifelong learning.
